If several internal messages are sent in a row, are they processed in a row?

Suppose I send an external message to some smart contract, and it reacts by sending several internal messages. These messages were generated "together" and were sent in a row, one just after another. Does it mean they will be received and processed "together", in a row? Or some totally unrelated transactions can be put in the middle of those, because TON is async by its nature and all kinds of things might happen?
